What is A Menopause Doula?
The Meno.Pause With Me Online Community was created to focus on resources, support, and most importantly a whole body approach to understanding perimenopause and menopause. So much of what is currently out there focuses on the basic, common symptoms of menopause: hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, brain fog. But perimenopause and menopause are so much more than that and no one is telling us that what we are experiencing is NORMAL! So many nights I cried myself to sleep thinking I was going crazy. I had no answers and struggled to find someone to talk it out with.
Meno.Pause With Me is a one-stop shop for information to help guide you through your journey, no matter where you are in it. I will not be recreating the wheel here…simply gathering information in a way that is accessible to all and presented in a safe, comforting environment.
You will have access to worksheets, workbooks, journals, chat groups, online meetings and community, referrals/resources, and for those of you close to me (the Jersey Shore, USA!) in person events and meetups. Access what you want, when you want it…from basic information to the top tier 1:1 doula support with Carla…your options, your choice.
A Menopause Doula (sometimes called a Menopause Advocate or Menopause Support Specialist) is a trained professional who provides non-medical support to women and people with ovaries as they navigate the menopause transition. We're not doctors — and that's actually the point.
Where a doctor has 10–15 minutes to see you and is focused on diagnosing and prescribing, a Menopause Doula has time. We sit with you, we listen, we help you understand what's happening in your body, and we help you prepare to advocate for yourself in those 10-minute appointments.
💡 Think of it this way: A Menopause Doula is like having a really well-informed, deeply compassionate friend who has done all the research for you — and who will walk beside you every step of the way.
What we do together…
Education: We explain what's happening in your body during perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause — in plain language you can actually use.
Advocacy preparation: We help you prepare for doctor's appointments, including what questions to ask and how to describe your symptoms clearly.
Resource connection: We help identify local and virtual resources — from menopause-informed providers to support groups to evidence-based treatment options.
Holistic support: We look at the whole picture — sleep, nutrition, mental health, relationships, and lifestyle — not just your hormone levels.
Emotional support: Sometimes you just need someone to say "yes, itchy ears ARE a menopause symptom, and you're not losing your mind.”
